Hello Readers!

Welcome to my blog, "Battle Cries." I have created this blog for my Honors Music & American Politics class, and I am delighted to share it with you! Specifically, this blog will serve as a commentary on "war songs." I plan to write on a variety of subtopics: songs written during and about certain wartimes, songs about wars that were in the past at the time of writing, more general songs about war and fighting, etc. I will research and be able to discuss both the context surrounding the songs and my opinions of them.

This is a great blog topic for me because I love music and I love history; here, I will be able to write about both of them! I have already started looking at possible song choices and I am very excited about some of the options. I hope you are also excited to read my findings and views. I think it will be a fun venture of all of us!
